ABSTRACT
The aim of this research was assessing the study of role and potential of Buddhism organization to promotion of economic system to the community in Phayao province. The sources of data were sample group of 75abbots, 75 temple’s committee and fund’s committee, 75 people who live in the temple area. All of the sample groups were in random.
The instruments used in collecting data the Likert 5 level questionnaire and interview. And also the data were questionnaire by percentage mean and standard deviation in quantity and analyze in narrative conclusion for the interview.
The results of this research were as follow:
1. The whole image of the Buddhist organization was the role and potential to promotion of economic system to the community in Phayao province.
2. An environmental condition of the temple or Buddhist organization was founded for a long time. It was convenient to the community and there were many houses in the temple area.
3. An input of the temple or Buddhist organization is given to the community such as moral teaching which base on the teaching of the Buddha. There was an independent economic system by founding the fund for helping of the villagers. A numbers of the villages managed the budget of their own.
4. The operation process of the temple or Buddhist organization in Phayao province is to promotion of education such as Mahachart preaching, Dharma practice and vocational development by bringing the trainers to train the villagers for the vocation. The temple or Buddhist organization is the short training centre. For the saving fund is operated by the selected committee. There is the inspection of the selected committee and the regular meeting of the operation of the fund is well smooth.
5. The people who check the questionnaire are satisfied with the product of the temple or Buddhist organization in medium level. The temple is a place for meeting and doing for religious activities. In saving fund, it is successful in medium level because it is useful for the members of community.
6. The effect of the Buddhist organization is making for the community near the old temple and its has arts and culture better in living and economy from the tourists. The temple is also the place to treat drug addicts in Phayao province.
In addition, the result of the data and small issue has different opinion up to their views on Buddhist organization and to promotion of economic system to the community. The monks should plan an important role in the community about Lanna culture promotion to follow the correct way in the Buddha’s teaching. And monks should make the temple for the learning centre which is in modern technology that it will make the people catch up with new technology or the temple should co-operate with government section and private section.
