ABSTRACT
The aim of this research was to study about developing the research information system, focusing the Tipitaka, in Thai Language and Pali Language for the Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University version. The research and development project was included software development for “search capacity” and database, which was in the CD-ROM format. The research process were included (1) developing “information for database” for Thai language version, in 30,260 pages, for Pali language version, in 25,000 pages approximately, (2) developing “search and report capacity” for research information system, and (3) developing the database for Buddhism research information to be in CD-ROM format.
The research results were as follows : (1) the research database of 30,260 Thai language pages and 25,000 Pali language pages, approximately 55,260 pages, had been completed (2) “search and report capacity” had been completed, with satisfactory low time requirement and accuracy (3) database for research in Thai and Pali versions for use had been completed, and (4) the strategic database for research and development were initiated ready for expanding to other knowledge bases. The research had been relevant and conducive to study and research in the new world of knowledge and information.
