ABSTRACT
The objective of the research was to study the guidelines to strengthen the Buddhist institutions in Nakhon Ratchasima regarding the factors, approaches or procedures of management and institutions or those who were responsible for the management. There were two phases in the research. The first phase concerned the gathering and summarizing data concerning Buddhist institutions in Nakhon Ratchasima from related literatures and their fundamental data. The second phase concerned the guidelines of how to strengthen the Buddhist institutions in Nakhon Ratchasima by conducing two workshops of the qualified specialists from both Buddhist monks and lay people. In the two workshops, there were 21 and 15 participants respectively. Consequently, the workshops resulted in the guidelines of how to strengthen Buddhist institutions in Nakhon Ratchasima as follows :
1. Regarding to Buddhist temples, the encouragement focussed on the buildings and areas, the management, the temple development and the Buddhist learning resources.
2. Regarding Buddhist monks and novices, the followings should be encouraged :- increasing number of Buddhist monks and novices, and developing Buddhist monks and novices’ characters.
3. Regarding Buddhists, they could be classified into three categories. The first category are those who handled and supported temple activities. They were lay bursars of a monastery, organizations or groups of local Buddhists.
All of the responsible working committee was institutions and personnel handling each job. They were office of Provincial Abbots Board. Abbots, lay bursars of the monastery, temples committee. Provincial Buddhism Office, Local Administration Office, Provincial Culture Office, Office of Education Region, as well as Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya university, Nakhon Ratchasima campus.
