ABSTRACT
This research was a study of satisfactoriness in practice of religious activities of Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University graduates in Northeast Thailand by analyzing the related factors of four groups of population: i) the group of office head who employed the graduates, ii) the group of administrative monks ( Phra Sanghathikan) holding the rank of district ecclesiastical governorship, iii) the group of Buddhist University administrators and iv) the group of Buddhist University graduates from batch number fifty. The results of the study have effective usefulness in improving learning and teaching efficiency; bolstering the understanding of University administrators and other concerned personnel’s about the significance of he graduates’ propagation of Buddhism in society and increasing the quality of graduate- tes along the goals set by the University.
The objectives of this research were: 1) to study satisfactoriness in practice of religious activities of Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University graduates in northeast Thailand, ii) factors related to satisfactoriness in practice of religious activities of Mahachulalongkornra javidyalaya University graduates in northeast Thailand, and iii) factors as influential for satisfactoriness in practice of religious activities of Mahachulanlongkornrajavidyalaya University graduates in Northeast Thailand.
The results of the stud show that all of the four groups of population have medium satisfactoriness in regard to the overall practice ad performance of religious activities by the graduates. In section or category, greatest satisfactoriness were shown by all of the four groups in the graduates’ practice of religious activities fro enhancing the Sangha’s activities, while the propagation of Buddhism and activities related to social service came in the second place.
The results of an analysis of the relations between the different variables and satisfactoriness in the graduates’ practice of religious activities by using the person’s correlation coefficient sow that the expecting of the characteristics of the graduates and their behavior during the practice the need for more students to help in the next year’s practice, the graduates’ ordained period as novices and monks, and problem and obstacles in the practice of religious activities all bear statistical relation to the fact of satisfactoriness in religious practice of the graduates. The present age of the graduates, their monthly income during the practice period and satisfactoriness in education management of the campuses have no relation with the satisfactoriness in the graduates’ practice of religious activities.
The results of the Multi-regression analysis test of the influential factors show that the behavior of the graduates in the practice of religious activities, their expected character, the district ecclesiastical governor of Surin and Nakhonrachasima, University deputy directors and problems and obstacles in practice of graduates’ religious activities all bear influence on the fact of satisfactory performance in Northeast Thailand. All independent variables of the study which can explain the variables of satisfactoriness of the graduates in the practice of religious activities in Northeast Thailand were classified according to the population as follows: the group of administrative monks (Phra Sanghathikan) 59.30%, the group of the Buddhist University administrators 49.50%, the group of office heads 39.60% and the group of Buddhist University graduates 18.20 % respectively.
